She views clients from a systems perspective, and considers all aspects of clients' lives that affect their health and well-being. She uses Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Mindfulness, and breathing techniques in therapy sessions. She believes in focusing on a client’s innate strengths and resources to facilitate positive changes in their lives.
She chose to pursue a Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy at Argosy University, in Eagan, Minnesota, after completing her undergraduate work in Art Therapy at Edgewood College in Madison, Wisconsin. She pursued advanced training in talk therapy, utilizing the Systems Theory perspective, with the idea that she could incorporate some of the art therapy techniques she learned into future therapy sessions.
Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her family, hiking, swimming, playing volleyball, and camping.
