Kelly (Erickson) Hagerty, MSW, APSW
Mental Health Therapist Post-graduate Trainee
Kelly (Erickson) Hagerty, MSW, APSW is a mental health therapist post-graduate trainee at Catalpa. She works with kids and teens ages 4-18, especially those with anxiety or mood disorders, depression, low self-esteem, and relationship issues. She also has a special interest in issues related to trauma, divorce and parental addiction.
Kelly chose the field of Social Work to provide a safe space where individuals could speak about their experiences and the challenges that they have faced. She knows that we all go through difficult periods in our lives, and that it’s not fun to go through those experiences on one’s own. She is passionate about encouraging clients to identify and build upon their strengths, and wants to empower children to reach their full potential by providing them with the tools and skills they need to be successful and resilient in overcoming life’s obstacles.
She believes that establishing trust and building a positive therapeutic relationship is imperative, and works hard to provide an environment in which clients feel empowered to speak their truth and to become more self-aware. She uses Cognitive Behavioral Therapy with strength-based, client-centered, and mindfulness interventions.
Kelly earned her Bachelor of Social Work degree form UW-Oshkosh and her Master of Social Work degree with an emphasis in mental health from UW-Madison. She is certified by the Wisconsin Department of Safety and Professionals Services as an Advanced Practice Social Worker.
Outside of work, Kelly enjoys painting, reading, exercise (especially cardio-kickboxing and swimming), and spending time with family and friends.
