Mental Health Therapist Post-graduate Trainee
Tyler Volkert, MSE, LPC-IT, NCC is a mental health therapist post-graduate trainee who works with clients ages six and older. He works with cases of anxiety, depression, self-esteem, LGBTQ+, relationship concerns, family relationships and anger management. He has a special interest in working with teens and young adults on their adjustment through various life stressors.
Tyler received both his Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology and his Master’s Degree in Professional Counseling from the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh. Tyler is also a Nationally Certified Counselor (NCC) through the National Board of Certified Counselors (NBCC).
Tyler’s approach to counseling is very strength-based and person-centered, recognizing the unique traits, strengths, and challenges of each individual person. He uses a holistic approach that involves all areas of wellness to determine how to best support the client. He primarily uses cognitive behavioral therapy, while incorporating traits of positive psychology and mindfulness.
In his free time, Tyler likes spending time with his friends and family, playing volleyball, going rollerblading, travelling, and playing video games.
