Mental Health Therapist
Tyler Volkert, MSE, LPC, NCC is a mental health therapist who works with clients ages six and older in Catalpa's Oshkosh clinic. He works with cases of anxiety, depression, self-esteem, LGBTQ+, relationship concerns, family relationships and anger management. He has a special interest in working with teens and young adults on their adjustment through various life stressors.
Tyler received both his Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology and his Master’s Degree in Professional Counseling from the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh. Tyler is also a Nationally Certified Counselor (NCC) through the National Board of Certified Counselors (NBCC).
Tyler’s approach to counseling is very relationship-focused and he puts a great deal of effort in building the relationships he has with his clients and their families, as they are often indicative of the relationships they have with others. His style allows for clients to use their time in therapy as they most need and he believes in Thich Nhat Hanh's ideal that “Every step of the path is the path." In doing this, Tyler incorporates skills and techniques from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, and Existential Therapy to help teach and guide clients to rewrite their stories about themselves in a new and better way.
In his free time, Tyler likes spending time with his friends and family, playing volleyball, going rollerblading, traveling, and playing video games.
