The Catalpa Health care team may conduct neuropsychological testing to better understand how your child’s brain and reasoning skills work. These standardized tests evaluate cognitive functions such intelligence, language, visual-motor skills, attention and organizational skills. Testing is helpful when diagnosing or developing treatment plans for certain mental health conditions, learning disabilities, or problems at school.
Tests are held at our clinic, in a supportive environment, and parents/guardians are encouraged to participate. The primary goal of neuropsychological testing is to determine your child’s strengths and weaknesses, so that everyone involved in your child’s care—including physicians, counselors, family and teachers—can give your child the attention he or she needs to succeed in all aspects of life.
