Ashley Whitmarsh PhD, PsyD, LP
Dr. Whitmarsh is a licensed clinical psychologist who provides comprehensive neuropsychological assessment and consultation for children and adolescents. She sees clients from infancy through adolescence. She routinely sees children with various developmental conditions, such as early developmental delays, learning differences, and attention difficulties, as well as acquired neurological conditions, and associated social and emotional difficulties. Specifically, she has specialty training in working with those who have a history of:
- Prenatal/perinatal complications and prematurity
- International and domestic adoption
- History of complex medical treatment, including chemotherapy, radiation, transplant, and neurosurgery
- Genetic syndromes
- Concussion and brain injury
Dr. Whitmarsh utilizes a systems-based approach that seeks to understand how a child is impacted by their unique relationships and experiences within their family, school, community, culture, and along their medical journey. Her clinical care is rooted in compassion, flexibility, and humor. She works to provide a comfortable space for all clients and to provide families clarity and practical solutions to move forward.
Dr. Whitmarsh received her undergraduate degree from Elizabethtown College. She earned a Doctorate of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Applied Biopsychology from the University of New Orleans and a Doctorate of Psychology (Psy.D.) in Clinical Psychology from Widener University. Her clinical training has spanned private and hospital based practice, including an APA accredited internship and an APPCN accredited postdoctoral fellowship in Pediatric Neuropsychology at the University of Minnesota Medical School. She is a member of the MIND (Minnesota Investigators in Neurodevelopmental Disabilities) Group at the University of Minnesota, where she contributes to research on RASopathies, a group of genetic conditions impacting neurodevelopment.
Dr. Whitmarsh balances her work by enjoying the outdoors with her husband and beloved pup, playing volleyball and the violin (at the beginner level), and exploring new places whenever possible.
