Mental Health Therapist

Gina Day, LPC, NCC, is a mental health therapist who treats patients with ADHD, anger issues, anxiety disorders, OCD and related disorders, tics, behavior management issues, self-esteem issues, social skills concerns, autism spectrum disorders and depression. With a particular interest in anxiety disorders, she is a member of the STARS Program (Specialized Treatment of Anxiety and Related Symptoms), which helps kids who struggle with these disorders, as well as a provider in our Seedlings clinic for kids from birth through age 5. She also has special interests in homelessness/ displacement issues and in working with Spanish-speaking clients.

She also serves as a clinic project coordinator for Catalpa, which includes assisting with special projects to support team members and clients, and developing ways to improve clinic policies and services.

Gina is passionate about her work because she enjoys the freedom of working with children. It allows her to be creative and fun with the interventions that she uses. Her philosophy is to always strive to keep the overarching treatment goals in focus, while using needs-based and strengths-based therapeutic interventions. Gina's hope is to make each encounter an opportunity to collaborate on what is most important to an individual in that moment and to build on their resiliencies. She uses mostly cognitive behavioral therapies, combined with family systems and solution-focused interventions.

Gina holds her Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology and Spanish from St. Norbert College and her Master of Arts degree in community counseling with child/adolescent specialization from Marquette University. Gina has a professional counselor license credential through the state of Wisconsin.

Outside of work, Gina enjoys exercising, cooking, dancing, watching TV and adding to her collection of owl memorabilia.
