Mental Health Therapist - Intern
Kim Shuman-Kellar is currently part of the Catalpa Health team in Appleton, working as a Mental Health Therapist Intern while obtaining her Masters in Social Work.
Her primary role is supporting the IOP (Intensive Outpatient) program and urgent cases. Kim has a specific interest in working with children that have disabilities in the future, as she focuses on self-acceptance and kindness not only to others, but also ourselves. She was drawn to Catalpa due to her own experience with childhood trauma and the affects it has on a child's life. This inspired her to choose a path in which she could help kids have the best opportunity to succeed and be their best self.
Currently, Kim attends the University of Wisconsin – Oshkosh. Prior she received her Bachelor of Social Work from Northern Michigan University in Marquette, Michigan. When not studying or working with the Catalpa team, she enjoys spending time with her dog, Gideon, time with friends and family, listening to podcasts and going on adventures.
