Amy M. Morrissey, MSE, LPC, is a mental health therapist who treats a wide range of topics, including trauma, abuse, depression, anxiety, and family system issues. Amy has a special interest in the utilization of play and art interventions (the symbolic language of self-expression). She treats children ages four years and older. Amy is passionate about her work because she believes everyone deserves an opportunity to have a voice and to feel heard and respected for it. One of the quotes she lives by from Garry Landreth is, “Children are worthy of respect because they have worth and dignity as individuals.” Her treatment philosophy is to meet people where they are and to respect the experiences that each individual has had. Amy received a bachelor’s degree in social work and her master’s degree in counseling from the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh. She is a nationally certified counselor through the National Board for Certified Counselors, a licensed professional counselor through the state of Wisconsin, and a member of the Association for Play Therapy. Outside of work, Amy enjoys spending time with her family, being creative and silly with her children, running as an outlet, using art for expression and process, and reading to take her mind to other places.
