Jennifer Vander Wielen, LPC, MAC, is a school-based mental health clinician with schools within the Appleton Area School District and PATH program. Jennifer received her Bachelor of Science degree with a major in Psychology from the University of Wisconsin – Oshkosh and a Master of Arts degree with a focus on community counseling from Lakeland College. She is licensed through the state of Wisconsin as a Licensed Professional Counselor.
Jennifer works with children ages 5 to 18 in the school setting and treats disorders and symptoms related to anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, parent/child conflict, emotional regulation, relationship issues, grief, and loss. She has a special interest in family dynamics, emotional regulation, and safety.
Jennifer feels it is important to meet children and families where they are at. Person-centered treatment allows individuals the opportunity to explore their thoughts and emotions, as well as cognitive-behavioral therapy and goal setting to utilize strengths. Children are resilient and when given the support and resources needed, growth can occur. Each child deserves an opportunity to share their story and journey in a safe, supportive environment.
When Jennifer is not meeting with clients, she enjoys spending time with her family and friends, traveling, and spending time outdoors.
