Laurissa Schisel, MS, LPC-IT, is a licensed mental health clinician who works with clients at Catalpa’s Appleton clinic. She has worked with children and teens ranging in ages from 5-18 and enjoys treating and working with issues related to self-esteem, self-doubt, body image, stress management, and life changes. Laurissa is passionate about nutrition and how that affects our bodies, mood, and daily functions. She likes using relaxation to promote mindfulness and growth to decrease anxiety and depression.
Laurissa believes in creating a safe space to promote growth and allow for trusting relationships to be built. She believes in treating the family as a whole by providing education and guidance – while still engaging the family in conversation and encouragement. When given the right tools to navigate life, one can learn who they really are and how they can improve their mental health and live a more authentic, fulfilled life of happiness.
She earned her Bachelor of Science in Human Development from the University of Wisconsin – Green Bay and obtained a Master of Arts in Counseling from Lakeland College.
Outside of work, Laurissa enjoys spending time with her family, reading, painting murals, and doing art and craft projects.

Please be sure you and your parent/guardian are in a CONFIDENTIAL and SEDENTARY SPACE (not in a moving vehicle) prior to joining your therapist’s waiting room. Patients and parents/caregivers MUST be in Wisconsin for the appointment.
